Werewolf’s Magic Touch
Excerpt

A bright ray of light suddenly filled the window and Serena looked out seeing how the clouds had moved away and a full orange colored moon was making its appearance known in the night sky. It was so beautiful it almost held her hypnotized. She’d never encountered such a sight and continued to stare at it for an overlong time, but finally, she looked away.
Her thoughts drifted to Seth again. She’d finally agreed to set the wedding date, but still had some concerns because she didn’t know a lot about him and his lifestyle. He entered her life with a rush, swept her off her feet, proposing marriage, and not giving her the chance to find out that much about him.
There were aspects of his life that remained a mystery to her. He never gave her full details of his childhood or family or how he was raised before meeting her, only that he wanted to take her to meet his parents in Salem, Massachusetts and marry her soon. She felt so in love with his dark brooding good looks that she went along with his plans and here they were; stuck out in some godforsaken farmhouse and having to wait until daylight to find a way back to civilization.
After a time, she became concerned that Seth was gone far too long. Maybe he was having problems finding the firewood and needed to search some distance from the house. The comforting thought that he might be having difficulty finding wood settled her overwrought nerves and she leaned back with a contented sigh escaping her lips.
Suddenly, a shiver raced down her spine when she heard a blood curdling howl coming from a distance outside the farmhouse. She sat up and looked to where she thought the sound had come from. She couldn’t be sure, but she thought she saw the image of a snarling black wolf outlined against the full moon overhead. It looked as if the animal bared his teeth as he let out another ear shattering howl. As she looked again she realized her imagination wasn’t playing tricks on her, but something clicked in her head.
The smell of Seth earlier could have been associated with a wild dog, or wolf. A frown crinkled her forehead at the thought. Her stupid line of thinking brought another smile to her lips. She needed to close her eyes and catch a little sleep, although her nerves prevented it in the spooky shelter they’d found to spend the night.
This made her wonder if Seth was all right. She didn’t know what she would do if he wasn’t. I’m just being silly. What could harm him, unless I did see a wild animal?
It seemed hours passed since Seth left and she could no longer keep track of the time, but everything was moving at such a slow pace. Creepy noises filled the old structure and she huddled deeper beneath the cover. Eventually, she heard the door opening and footsteps again and a relieved sigh left her lips.
“Seth, is that you?” she called out and waited expectantly, but there wasn’t an answer. “Seth,” she called out again, only to receive the same response. Silence. “Stop playing jokes on me, Seth. Please answer.” Shivers of apprehension attacked her causing her body to shake in fright.
